It may or may not have been the Stoke Newington premiere of György Ligeti’s first string quartet, but it certainly wasn’t the first time the Ligeti Quartet had played it that evening. The four players had barely finished an early evening recital in central London when, accompanied by a few fans and Classical Music, they piled into a bus and headed across town for a restaurant basement.
