Welcome to the new Classical Music website and thank you for visiting.

Classical Music, January 2013

We hope you find the changes we have made useful, helpful and easy to navigate, but we thought some key directions in the early stages wouldn’t go amiss.

First, if you are a subscriber, please click on the ‘Are you a subscriber?’ button on the right hand side and go through the registration process, not forgetting to enter your web ID (this is in the third paragraph of the letter you should have received from Rhinegold Publishing). This will gain you full access to the site. If you are having problems, please contact us on 0844 8560649 or

News and opinion stories are free to view, but if you are not a subscriber we still require you to register in order to view and comment on stories. Please do so by clicking the ‘Not a subscriber?’ option on the right hand side.

If you are returning to the site, please click ‘Login to your account’ on the right hand side.

This is just one of a range of changes to CM which we hope will allow us to keep you, our readers, as well-informed and up-to-date as possible with the world of classical music and the broader arts landscape.

From 11 January, subscribers will be sent a daily email compiled by the editorial team, with a summary of all the classical music news of the day from across the press, with web-links taking you straight to the stories you want to read.

We will very shortly be providing subscriber access to our digital magazine archive, and the process of adding previous features, news and reviews is ongoing. Eventually we hope to have more than five years’ worth of news and features available online as fully functioning, searchable web pages, but it is a time consuming process!

From now we will be offering an improved news service, bringing you up-to-date and authoritative news coverage, analysis and opinion. We hope that this new package also gives our subscribers the most convenient access to our in-depth features, both online and in print.

Of course we are sure that there will be teething problems and would be grateful for any and all feedback you might have about this new site. Please let us know at

Many thanks for your time, and please enjoy the new site.
